Litigation Legal Secretary

The downtown Austin office of an international law firm is seeking a Litigation Legal Secretary to support a multi-attorney desk. Responsibilities will include the need to coordinate work between offices and teams, word processing, time entry, review client billing for accuracy, edit content/grammar, schedule meetings and conference rooms, make travel arrangements, submit expense reports, calendar maintenance, and handle daily mail.  Secretary must be able to function within a team environment, communicate with courts and regulatory offices, and complete basic research and fact-finding assignments.  Successful candidate will be an effective multi-tasker, self-starter, able to manage the calendar of a busy team, and work well in a fast-paced environment.

Litigation legal secretary will have at least 5 years’ experience in a law firm supporting complex litigation matters.  Extensive knowledge and experience with the litigation process and procedures, eFiling, court rules, court forms, and managing litigation dockets.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate sound judgment, discretion, initiative, and creative problem solving on a daily basis.  Effective oral and written communication skills with strong knowledge of grammar and spelling are required. The ability to maintain a professional and proactive approach to all situations is an essential trait.  Required experience must include supporting multiple litigation attorneys with a variety of practice needs and work styles.  The successful candidate will have experience working remotely with attorneys and staff in multiple offices.

Proficiency with Word, Outlook and Excel is required.  College degree preferred.  Ability to work overtime when needed is required.
